Public Workfare Scheme: 8,000 Unemployed Young People, Women Receive Cash Assistance In Kwara
Kwara state Government has begun fresh disbursement to 8,000 unemployed young people in the state including women under its public workfare scheme.
The programme is being coordinated by the Kwara state Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP).
Ag. General Manager of Kwara state Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP), Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini, in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday, noted that activation of the workfare scheme commenced on Monday February 5 ,after weeks of enumeration process that spanned the 16 local governments in the state.
“In the last few weeks, our team at KWASSIP has toured the 16 local governments in Kwara state to enumerate beneficiaries of the public workfare scheme. The scheme is another impactful initiative of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration targeted at empowering young people and actively engaging them to become productive members of society.
Each beneficiary has started getting N25,000 cash assistance . Like many other social investment programmes of the AbdulRazaq administration, the public workfare scheme will contribute to the socio-economic wellbeing of our people in the state’ the statement added.
