Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro has described the South Africa-Nigeria semi-final match as the toughest game the Eagles have played in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast .
Recall that it was a match that made everyone be on the edge of their seats because it featured tense situations.
After a pulsating 120 minutes of football had ended 1-1, ,Nigeria eventually defeated South Africa during penalty shootout .
‘It was a very good victory against a very good team. They created more problems for us than the other teams. They managed the ball with quality and they have players with good quality. It was difficult to beat them’ Peseiro submitted in an interview with reporters while adding that ‘the players are happy; they deserve it and Nigerians deserve it as well’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has however submitted that but for missed chances, his team would have won.
‘We created more chances, which means if we had scored, we would have been in the final and not Nigeria.
It’s a big disappointment for everyone, we believe we played a very good game, not just this game but throughout the tournament. I’m proud of my players, the disappointment is low, but the pride is high’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com
