Murder-Suicide: Police Launch Investigation Into Death Of Couple In Ondo

The police have launched investigation into the death of a businessman, Sesan Adelabu, and his wife, Bolu in Akure, Ondo state capital, on Friday.

It was alleged to be a case of murder-suicide as Adelabu, who was popularly called Emirate, reportedly took his own life at his residence in Alagbaka, Akure, after killing his wife.

Emirate, an oil dealer,  allegedly killed his wife with a machete and later drank  a liquid substance suspected to be insecticide.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the  Commissioner of Police, Ondo state command, Mr  Abayomi Oladipo, had since  ordered the criminal investigation department of the command to investigate the incident.

‘The state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, has ordered the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case of alleged murder and suicide of a socialite and petrol station owner,  Sesan Adelabu, popularly called Emirate, and his wife, Mrs Bolu Adelabu.

On February 9, 2024, a distress call was received by the police at A’ Division Akure. The officer attached to the deceased person  in his house in the Alagbaka area in Akure, received a call from his child at about 6 pm asking after his father because he (Emirate) was not picking up his calls.

The policeman, while trying to inform his principal, discovered him face-down and lifeless in the toilet while his wife’s body was found on the bed with multiple cuts suspected to be machete cuts on her head and face.

An empty container of insecticide was also found at the scene of the incident. An investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident and the scene cordoned off to enable police to do the needful’ spokesperson for the Police  in the state, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, who had earlier confirmed the incident, submitted in a statement issued on Saturday-Team@orientactualmags.com
