Faith Ojeifo Takes Over As Kwara Customs Chief, Seeks Support From Officers, Stakeholders

Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo has taken over as head of the Kwara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Spokesman for the Command , Chado Zakari noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that this was sequel to the outgoing Controller, Mr. Kehinde Ilesanmi’s retirement from the Nigeria Customs Service.
‘The Comptroller General of Customs, CGC Bashir Wale Adeniyi MFR , has approved the deployment of Compt. FM Ojeifo as the new Customs Area Controller to oversee the affairs of the Command.
Comptroller Ojeifo from the Customs Headquarters, Abuja takes over as the new head of the Command from Compt. Kehinde Ilesanmi who has just proceeded on his retirement after attaining the age of sixty (60) years.
During the short handing over ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Ilorin, Kwara state, on Tuesday, 20th February, 2024, the outgoing controller, Compt. Ilesanmi urged officers and men of the Command to extend the same support and cooperation he had enjoyed to his successor’ the statement said.
In his farewell address, Ilesanmi thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to serve as Area Controller.
He urged officers to give the incoming controller maximum support to effectively discharge the new responsibility bestowed upon him while praying for God’s guidance and intervention for a successful tenure.
Compt. FM Ojeifo told the management team that his intention is to consolidate on the achievements of his immediate predecessor and others submitting that he would need nothing less than 300% support for him to succeed.
‘We have to intensify our efforts to surpass the Command revenue target for the year 2024 and to equally suppress smuggling activities to the barest minimum’ he said.
The new Customs Area Controller implored officers to imbibe a culture of transparency and professionalism while discharging their responsibilities.
He also warned that any act of negative conduct on the part of the officers would not be tolerated and promised to work assiduously towards consolidating the feat attained by his predecessor.
Ojeifo also solicited for cooperation, support, and collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other relevant stakeholders while expressing readiness to partner with them with regard to sharing of intelligence gathering for combating smuggling activities and other trans-border crimes-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
