3 Arrested For Attempting To Kill Okada Rider In Abeokuta…Pillion Passenger Among Suspects
Three people; Monsuru Musa, Adija Monsuru, and Shehu Dikko have been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Ogun state for attempting to kill an okada rider, Mr Tijani in the Afonta area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the incident, was recorded last week Monday at about 6.10pm.
Tijani , who was attacked by his pillion passenger and two others, sustained head, neck and lower lip injuries.
At Lafenwa, Adija Monsuru had asked Tijanni to take her to Soyeye area but before getting to her destination, the young woman had asked the okada rider to stop because she wanted to have a telephone conversation with her friend.
Within minutes, Musa and Dikko, arrived at the scene and joined Monsuru on the motorcycle and they attempted to strangle Tijanni by tying a rope around his neck and tightening it firmly but he screamed for help which made other motorcyclists, residents, and a team of police officers to arrive at the place and get the three suspects arrested before they could escape through a nearby bush.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Odutola Omolola, who has confirmed the incident, said the suspects are notorious motorcycle thieves.
She added that the victim had since been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
‘The female passenger had requested for the motorcyclist’s mobile phone to call a friend who was travelling the same route. But two people arrived at the scene. The three suspects are members of the same syndicate. They specialize in stealing motorcycles. They have been arrested and they will be prosecuted’ she said- Team@orientactualmags.com
