Chief Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, an aerospace engineer, who is based in the United States of America, submitted on Wednesday that he was excited to receive the news of Thomas Adewumi University, (TAU), Oko, Kwara state entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bowie State University , (BSU) Maryland, United States of America ,calling this a landmark development.
Oko is in Irepodun local government , Kwara state, and TAU is a private university.
Adeyemi, an indigene of Esie, Irepodun local government, in a statement he issued in USA and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday said ‘it is good news for the Kwara South senatorial district, and Kwara state as a whole’ cognizant that ‘it offers great opportunities for growth and development’.
He congratulated the management team of the Thomas Adewumi University for laying the groundwork for a full cooperation while urging them to remain on track and ensure that their efforts yield the desired results .
The signing of the MOU with the BSU, he also noted, will help TAU achieve its mission statement of becoming a global university as it will help to advance research and academic exchange in all fields and attract international students that would come from different countries.
‘The two universities will collaborate in respect of development of research projects, management of grants applications, and they will jointly organize academic and scientific activities including conferences, seminars, symposia and lectures.
It will also feature exchange of research and teaching personnel, exchange programmes for students, exchange of publications and other materials of common interest.
This will definitely offer great opportunities for growth and development. I heartily congratulate Engineer (Chief) J.B.O Adewumi for this great achievement, he has done us proud.
I also congratulate the staff and students at TAU ,and urge the management team of the university to remain on track and ensure that their efforts yield the desired results.
