Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state has submitted that he was glad to receive reports of students from across public and private schools in the state who took the recently held Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) , and have been posting impressive results.
The governor in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary, noted that ‘particularly heartwarming is that of Master Samuel Olanrewaju Oluwasemilore of Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, who got 358’.
Governor AbdulRazaq also congratulated the great 30 (students) from the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, a private school in Ilorin, who got between 355 and 300 marks in the exam — and similar high-performers from other schools in the state.
‘We are proud of achievements like this; they serve as shining examples for younger ones to work harder, be at their best in their studies, and make their parents and community proud.
We are also excited that these are not isolated successes in our education sector, coming only a few weeks after Kwara state team represented Nigeria on the global stage at World School Debate in Singapore, among other feats.
I assure the good people of this state that we will continue to beat our own record in this critical sector. Our KwaraLEARN programme is yielding impressive results already, and the state executive council has recently approved statewide coverage for the tech-based learning programme.
The next few years will yield awesome learning outcomes, while we are soon launching a first-of-its-kind Kwara state Education Trust Fund to inject more resources and strengthen accountability in the sector’ the governor said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
