The Committee of Unions in Tertiary Institutions (CUTI) has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara state for approving 90% Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salaries Structure, (CONPCASS) and the Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salaries Structure, (CONTEDISS) salary scales for workers at tertiary institutions in the state .
The CUTI in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its Chairman, Comrade Abdullateef Yahya Bolaji noted that this was long-awaited hence the decision to sincerely and deeply appreciate the governor for taking the positive steps that the tertiary institution workers were all desirous of which, the statement added, will usher in ‘a new era of stability and productivity in the State of Harmony’s tertiary education sector’.
‘This decision, effective from April 2024 with the inclusion of arrears, is a significant victory for our members who have tirelessly advocated for fair compensation. The implementation of these salary structures will go a long way in improving the morale and well-being of our lecturers, administrators, and other staff.
We acknowledge the commitment and dedication of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the progress of tertiary education in Kwara state. This investment in our workforce will undoubtedly result in improved quality of teaching, research, and overall service delivery at our institutions.
While appreciating all relevant stakeholders in the process of the approval, CUTI remains committed to working collaboratively with the Kwara state Government to ensure the successful implementation of these new salary structures.
