First Nigerian Female Soldier To Become Alumna Of Sandhurst Visits Remi Tinubu In Abuja

The first female Nigerian female soldier to get trained at  the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst , United Kingdom, 2nd Lt Oluchukwu Owowoh , visited the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu in Abuja on Monday .

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned that Mrs. Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant  on Media, Kukoyi Busola, who disclosed this in a statement she issued on Monday  , noted that the First Lady  commended Owowoh for her outstanding performance and resilience throughout her training, describing her as a shining example for the  Nigerian youths.

The academy was established in 1947 after two older military institutions were merged and 2nd Lt Oluchukwu Owowoh , who was part of Commissioning Course 232, now has under her belt, a unique achievement- the first Nigerian female soldier to become an alumna of the institution.

‘Your determination and resilience are quite remarkable, and you are an inspiration to the youth of this country. As a woman, the first who has made a mark in a male-dominated field, I salute you.

This is just the beginning. You are now a reference point for all Nigerian youths. If you remain focused and positive, you will reach your goal in life’ the statement quoted the First Lady  to have submitted.

The First Lady was also said to have requested the presence of the wife of the Vice President, the wife of the Speaker, wives of ministers, wives of Service Chiefs and members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and they all gave 2nd Lt. Owowoh a standing ovation.

The statement added that the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Maj. Gen. OJ Ochai, explained that ‘Owowoh was the best of the 200 selected cadets from the NDA’.

He added that she excelled in three areas, which are academics, military subjects, and physical fitness.
