Premier League Fixtures : Matches Postponed For 3 Days  In Honour  Of Late Queen Elizabeth

Owners of premier league clubs have announced decision to postpone matches in honour of Queen Elizabeth.

Elizabeth passed away in Balmoral, Scotland on Thursday after spending 70 years on the throne.

With the country currently  in a national period of mourning, it had been  expected that football games will be put on hold.

The British government had  on Friday officially declared the start of a period of national mourning for Queen Elizabeth, publishing what it called ‘national mourning guidance’.

The document, which carried guidance on flying flags, information on travel, and other business and public services, stated that the mourning will continue until the end of the day of the state funeral.

The government however noted that  there was no obligation to cancel or postpone events and sporting fixtures, or close entertainment venues during this time, adding that this would be at the discretion of individual organizations.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned the Emirates Stadium was set to host Arsenal vs Everton in the Premier League before the news of the Queen’s death was announced on Thursday.

At a meeting on Friday morning, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

To honour her extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend’s Premier League match round will  according to them be postponed, including Monday evening’s game.

 ‘We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s long and unwavering service to our country.

As our longest-serving monarch, she has been an inspiration and leaves behind an incredible legacy following a life of dedication.
