Former Balogun Gambari Of Ilorin, Abdulkareem Buhari, Dies At 97
The 11th Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari , died in Ilorin , the Kwara state capital, in the early hours of Friday at the age of 97.
Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari ,who was born on February 27, 1927, became the Balogun Gambari of Ilorin in 1988. He served as Balogun Gambari of Ilorin from 1988 to 2005.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he was a successful transporter who traveled to many countries including France, London, USA, Canada, and other European countries to transact business.
One of his sons, Alh Olayinka Buhari, extolled his virtues submitting that he lived a life worthy of emulation.
Noting that his late father would be sorely missed, he also called him a disciplinarian, a philanthropist and a successful businessman adding that his death has created a vacuum that would be too difficult to fill.
He also said his late father contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Ilorin Emirate, adding that his significant contribution would continue to linger in the hearts of the people.
