2023 Kogi Guber Election: Tribunal To Deliver Ruling Tomorow
The Kogi state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal will on Saturday , May 27, 2024, deliver ruling on the petition filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate in the gubernatorial election held in the state on Saturday, November 11, 2023 , Alhaji Murtala Ajaka.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu, announced the date through its Secretary, David Mike on Thursday via the message sent to counsels for the petitioners and the defendants.
Hearing in the case, which had begun in December 2023 ended on May 13 when SDP, Ajaka, APC, Ododo and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) adopted their final written addresses, after which the tribunal reserved judgment.
INEC, the APC and Ododo had however urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition filed by Ajaka for being unmeritorious.
In his petition, the SDP guber candidate urged the tribunal to annul the victory of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo .
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo winner of the guber election in question and he had since gotten sworn in as governor of Kogi state on January 27, 2024-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
