Kwara state Government has submitted that the mid-term break in primary and secondary schools in the state will no longer take place on Thursday, June 6, and Friday, June 7, 2024.
The state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, who disclosed this on Tuesday, has announced Thursday, June 13, and Friday, June 14, 2024, as the new dates.
The ministry’s Press Secretary, Mr Peter Amogbonjaye, quoted the commissioner as submitting that ‘the mid-term break that was earlier scheduled for Thursday, June 6, and Friday, June 7, 2024, has been shifted to Thursday, June 13, and Friday, June 14, 2024’.
‘The reason for the postponement is to reduce the public holidays for the students so that they can have more time for learning’ she added.
The statement urged primary and high school students in the state to pay attention to their studies noting that education remains the only legacy that could be bequeathed to them by their parents.
