Governor Oborevwori : Promises Made, Promises Kept –Ossai Ovie Success
The kind of governor Delta state has in Sheriff Oborevwori is a model for other states to emulate.
In his campaign speeches ahead of the 2023 General Election, he made promises to the people of Delta state, and he has been working tirelessly to fulfill them since assuming office.
His agenda, which is called the ‘MORE Agenda’, prioritizes meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and getting peace and security enhanced.
In keeping with his campaign promises, Governor Oborevwori has implemented various initiatives, including restructuring the state’s public service, approving payments for public personnel and retirees, and providing ex-gratia stipends for the civil servants.
He has also invested in employee development, approving funds for housing and vehicle loans, and employing new teaching and non-teaching staff to address manpower shortages.
The governor has also initiated numerous road projects, empowered over 50,000 young people, and made grants available to traders and artisans. He has also scaled up the Delta COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) Programme, increasing the number of beneficiaries by 205%.
Additionally, he has established a new College of Health Technology, approved the acquisition of medical equipment for hospitals, and provided free healthcare for pregnant women and under-five children.
Thanks to the governor’s peace initiative, Delta state is now 100% peaceful and investor-friendly.
His commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance has made him a role model for other governors—Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, writes from Asaba, Delta state
