Emir Of Argungu Commends Gov Idris For Making Great Strides In Education Sector

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state has been commended by the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera for making great strides in  the state education sector  and for coming up with laudable initiatives to further develop the sector in question.

Governor Nasir Idris

Mera particularly hailed the governor for constructing  a Mega school in his Emirate which according to him would go a long way in addressing congestion in schools when fully completed and becomes operative.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the Emir gave this commendation when the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi  visited him  at his Palace in Argungu recently.

The royal father, who was assessing the Governor Nasir Idris administration  in its first year in office, asserted that the Kauran Gwandu-led administration has performed creditably well within a short period of time.

He said within a  short period of twelve months, about 10 additional primary schools have been constructed in Argungu while junior secondary schools have also been expanded in his domain .

‘ We had wards in Argungu that had no primary school, but now there is none without a primary school in Argungu .

Some of our schools that are old and densely populated now have junior secondary schools situated within their premises  so that students do not have to travel far from their homes which is one of the factors why girls do not go to school. You can’t give anybody anything better than education ‘  he averred.

While emphasizing the importance of education and the pedigree of Kauran Gwandu as an experience educationist and activist ,  the monarch emphatically stated that he believes that the governor’s experience in the education sector  is working for him.

‘ As a person who deals with education at the grassroots level, he knows the roles the traditional institutions play in getting children registered in schools, making sure they are retained in schools besides supporting teachers to carry out their activities diligently’ he said.

He also expressed delight with the level of synergy and understanding between the governor and the traditional institutions in the state.

‘ So, personally, I am not surprised he is working with us, he knows what we can do as the first point of contact to ordinary man. He is a resident activist ,working with us at the lowest level of our community’ the Emir added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
