Rep Sanya Omirin Distributes Food Parcels To Constituents In Ijesha South, Gifts 4 PDP LG Chairmen Cars…Presents Patrol Vehicle To Police
A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Sanya Omirin, has distributed food parcels to members of his constituency in the spirit of the eid-li-adha celebration.
Rep Sanya Omirin, who represents Ijesa South Federal Constituency , made foot items including rice and gari available to senior citizens and the vulnerable member of society in his constituency to enliven them as they celebrate the 1445 AH eid-li-Adha.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that PDP chairmen in the four local governments in Ijesa South Federal Constituency also received car gifts while the federal lawmaker has also taken steps to enhance security in his constituency by donating a Patrol Vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force ‘C’ Division , Akad Command, Osogbo road, Ilesa.
Giving his speech, Hon. Sanya Omirin thanked the people of his federal Constituency for keeping faith with him and his party, the PDP by voting massively for him and all other PDP candidates during the elections that were held in 2022 and 2023.
He also urged them to be wary of those who have ruled the state with iron fists without reciprocating their good gestures as committed citizens.
Hon Sanya Omirin noted that the event held on Tuesday was mainly for the elderly people in Ilesa East and Ilesha West Local Governments while that of Atakunmisa East and Atakumosa West local governments would be held at a future date to save the beneficiaries from the stress of having to travel to Ilesha .
Asserting that the PDP is not a political party that fails to fulfill promises, Rep Omirin cited the Okesa Road rehabilitation project that was carried out by the state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership.
He added that the governor keeps his word and had also recently flagged off the flyover project at Ilesa Roundabout.
Hon Omirin also talked about some of the bills that he has sponsored since he became a member of the House of Representatives last year and he listed these to include;
(1) The inclusion in the 2024 budgets, the Ilesa Township road projects that include Ayeso, Brewery, Odo-Ori roads which was part of the projects that he facilitated as his constituency projects,
(2) Wesley Guild Hospital to be upgraded into a Federal Medical Centre, and the bill has left the second reading stage.
However, he noted that shortly after the bill passed its second reading, the Methodist Church Nigeria, came to the House of Representatives and raised an objection against the upgrading of the Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre.
He therefore appealed to Ijesa community leaders to plead with authorities of the Methodist Church of Nigeria to allow the upgrading because if they miss the chance now, it may not be made possible again.
Osun state Commissioner for Health, Barrister Akinjola advised the federal lawmaker to inform His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, the Owa Obokun of Ijesa land and urge him to intervene in the matter being a member of the Methodist Church Nigeria.
Omirin noted that in order to ensure that ‘Wesley’ is retained in the name of the hospital he had suggested an amendment to the name of the hospital to read ‘WESLEY FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE’.
(3) Another motion he has raised which has also gotten the support of his colleagues is the River Oora Channelization noting that works will soon begin there.
(4) Another very important bill sponsored by Hon. Sanya Omirin is Education Security at all levels of education in the country which has earned National attention, especially in the Northern States and has passed second reading. He said Education Security will be included in the next year’s school curriculum at all levels of education from primary up to the university.
(5) Other bills sponsored by Rep. Omirin are facilitation of several blocks of classrooms in some schools at Ifewara, Eti-Oni, Oke-Bode, Osu and other towns which he said are already in the 2024 budget and awaiting implementation.
(6) The reconstruction and rehabilitation of Iperindo road was also listed among the major roads he has included in the 2024 budget for consideration.
Hon. Omirin urged Osun state residents and citizens to be patient with the current administration in the state while warning them against vote buyers who will come once in 4 years to entice them with stipends when election draws near because they have nothing to offer them.
He added that no reasonable person will seek to change a winning team. ‘Team Ademola Adeleke is winning at all levels and it needs to be retained’ he said.
He also promised to fulfill all electoral promises made to the artisans, barbers, spare part dealers and all other professionals in Ijesa land who assisted and supported all PDP candidates during the 2022 governorship election and the 2023 general election very soon.
Also speaking, the state PDP Chairman , Hon. Sunday Bisi commended Hon. Sanya Omirin for being a good representative of his people and for coming up with a good number of developmental bills .
He added that Governor Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated his commitment to rapid infrastructural development of the State of the Living Spring Ijesa land inclusive with the flagging off of the flyover project at Roundabout to Brewery junction and road rehabilitation projects including Osu to Iloba, Ogbon Tuntun Ijesa.
Adeleke’s Special Adviser on Political and Allied Matters, Hon. Tunde Badmus, who represented the governor and also delivered his goodwill message to the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency, told the gathering that the governor has a high opinion of their representative’s abilities while noting that he has been complementing the efforts of the state government since he became a member of the house of representatives last year through various empowerment programmes which is aired on radio weekly.
The governor also assured them that the reconstruction of Ilesa-Osogbo road project will start soon while urging continued support for his administration to ensure sustainable development of the state and democracy.
