Kebbi Govt Condemns PDP’s Comments On 1445 AH Hajj Exercise As 410 Pilgrims Return To Birni Kebbi
The first batch of pilgrims from Kebbi state comprising 410 people, have returned from Saudi Arabia.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement he issued in Birni Kebbi and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the pilgrims, who are from Arewa and Jega Local Governments, arrived at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi on Saturday at 9.42 pm , adding that they were conveyed by a 330 – 900 Airbus belonging to Flynas Airline .
‘Their arrival in the state marked the commencement of homebound journey of Nigerian Pilgrims from the Holy Land to the country, Kebbi state being the launch pad for the transportation of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia one month ago.
All males and females, who disembarked from the aircraft were in good health condition and they looked well fed.
A female pilgrim, Hajiya Barakah Maishanu, was full of appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris, who ensured their comfort and care through the Pilgrims Welfare Agency during their stay in Makkah and Madinah as well as their safe return to Kebbi.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Mu’azu, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Lands and Housing, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmad and the state Accountant General , Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, who also performed the 1445 AH hajj, poured encomiums on the governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu and commended him for providing the wherewithal for the success of the hajj exercise from the beginning to the end.
Alhaji Shehu Mu’azu also conveyed the fraternal greetings of Governor Nasir Idris to the people of Kebbi state for their support and loyalty to his administration, acknowledging the everlasting goodwill of the people to him as their leader’ the statement said.

‘A total of 410 pilgrims came back to Kebbi this night, (Saturday, 22/6/2024), as you can see, they are in good health and they were transported back home together with their luggage from Saudi Arabia.
We thank Allah for His Bountiful Mercy, and also commend our compassionate governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, for his charisma and love for his people in all spheres of life.
He has high regard for religious matters as basic foundation for a decent and prosperous society. The governor has been in the forefront and doing the needful to ensure the smooth conduct and success of the Hajj operation, which we are celebrating today.
Kebbi commenced the outward journey to the Hajj 2024 and the first to start the return airlift. Kauran Gwandu deserves our commendation and prayers for success, guidance and wisdom from the Almighty God in steering the affairs of our dear state to fruition’ the state Head of Civil Service , who is the Chairman of the 12- member reception committee, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, was also quoted to have told journalists at the airport.
He also disclosed that the second batch of Pilgrims have been scheduled to arrive at the airport today, Sunday.
In separate statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com , the state government has also condemned the state PDP’s comments on the 1445 AH hajj exercise describing it as hasty and one laced with an ulterior motive.
Recall that the state PDP Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Kalgo had in a statement he issued in Birni Kebbi on Saturday commended those in charge of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for the successful conduct of the 1445 AH Hajj exercise while however demanding that the agency should present accountability report to the people of Kebbi state.
‘Again, one wonders why the PDP should acknowledge the success of the conduct of the Hajj exercise by those in charge of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency and the good conduct of the pilgrims in the Holy land but turn around to demand the so-called accountability report when the first batch of the home-bound pilgrims has just landed.
The demand made by the PDP is hasty and laced with an ulterior motive as the Kauran Gwandu administration is an open and transparent government.
Success comes with enormous responsibility and liability; only the appropriate resources required were invested for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and comfort of the pilgrims both at home and in Saudi Arabia.
Let me remind the PDP that His Excellency, Governor Nasir Idris hosted NAHCON Chairman and other officials prior to the commencement of transportation of pilgrims to the holy land. He bared everything his administration had performed to enable departure and return of Kebbi Pilgrims from Birnin Kebbi Airport to Saudi Arabia, away from the experience of last year that compelled them to shuttle to Sokoto before leaving for Saudi Arabia.
It is on record that before the commencement of the transportation of our pilgrims from Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi to the holy land in Saudi Arabia, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu made provision for an aviation oil dump at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, for refuelling of the incoming aircraft.
Also, the government hired an aviation consultant to offer advice on whatever was required for successful international flights.
The governor did not hesitate to tell the world the amount of money expended. He repeated the same thing at the start of the flight operation in the presence of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.
NAHCON has rated Kebbi as having the best arrangement nationwide and commended the governor for subsidizing the Hajj fares of all the Kebbi state pilgrims to the tune of one million naira per each pilgrim.
So, it is not surprising just for scoring political gains, the opposition party, the PDP is making unsavoury noise because of the Kauran Gwandu’s enviable success in respect of the Hajj exercise.
Why the haste? A comprehensive report on the 2024 Hajj will be available for all to peruse after the return flights is completed.
As a respectable and credible personality with penchant for sincerity and openness, Governor Nasir Idris appointed a similar impeccable character, former governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari as the Amirul Hajj and Head of Government Delegation for the Pilgrimage.
Kauran Gwandu is operating a just system and justice has always been the hallmark of our Comrade Leader.
PDP should cease from making unnecessary noise and malice against the people’s government of Kauran Gwandu.
