10,000 Transport Workers Receive N20,000 Cash Assistance From Kwara Govt

A total of 10,000 people, who are transport workers, have received N20,000 cash assistance each from the Kwara state government.
This was done through the office of Kwara state Social investment programme (KWASSIP) .
General Manager of KWASSIP, Dr Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka in a statement he issued in Ilorin on Wednesday noted that 10,000 transport workers have received the cash assistance which is aimed at cushioning the effects of removal of petrol subisidy and easing things for the people.
‘Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in his usual magnanimity, has okayed the disbursement of N20,000 each to 10,000 transport workers in the state. Categories of benefiting transporters include members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW); Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN); Motorcycle Owners Association of Nigeria (MOUN); Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN); National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO); and National Association of Cooperative Transporters (NACT). Others are Tipper Drivers Association and Allied Truck Drivers’ Dr Tejidini said.
‘Beneficiaries who have been earlier physically verified and captured through the office of KWASSIP are now receiving alerts.
The programme is among the numerous humanitarian supports of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq administration to cushion the effects of removal of petrol subsidy.
