233 Casual Workers Become ‘Full-Time Employees’ In Kebbi
Kebbi state Government has regularized the appointment of 233 casual staff and made them become full-time employees. The government noted that this was a fulfillment of the promise made by Governor Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu in January this year .

‘This action was a follow-up to the commitment made by Governor Idris while appearing on a BBC Hausa programme called ‘A Fada Acika’ during which a casual worker from Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, had urged him to regularize employment of casual staff and make them become full-time employees’ the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday while noting that the state Commissioner for Health, Comrade Yunusa Musa Ismail, disclosed this in his office during the formal presentation of permanent employment letters to the 233 workers in question on Tuesday.
He explained that the process was approved by the governor culminating into the issuance of permanent letter of appointment to 233 workers at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, and Kebbi Medical Centre, Kalgo.
‘If you recall, on January 1, 2023, Governor Nasir Idris was the Special Guest at an interactive session on the BBC Hausa programme ‘A Fada Acika,’ where he made several promises.
Today, he has fulfilled the last of those promises by regularizing the employment of casual workers’ the Health Commissioner said.
Comrade Yunusa Musa Ismail acknowledged the significance of this important event, announcing that all 233 screened casual workers had since received their permanent employment letters from the state government.
The Health Commissioner expressed sincere gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for his kind gesture, and urged the new permanent staff to rededicate themselves to excellence in service.
He also thanked the screening committee, headed by the Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, co-chaired by Hon. Shafiu Zauro, the governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, for their fairness and diligence throughout the process.
Comrade Yunusa Musa Ismail also commended the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, for his consistent efforts in promoting the programmes and policies of the Kebbi state Government under Governor Nasir Idris.
In his remarks, Hon. Shafiu Zauro, thanked Governor Idris for reposing confidence in them to carry out the assignment.
He disclosed that the committee screened 233 casual staff, 138 from Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital and 98 from Kebbi Medical Center, Kalgo, which had successfully earned them full-time employment.
Hon. Zauro advised them to remain loyal, forthright and punctual in their duties, praying the Almighty Allah to grant success to the Governor Nasir Idris administration.
Similarly, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, expressed satisfaction with the governor’s commitment to fulfilling his promises.
‘Today’s event was not just about regularizing employment, but also about keeping promise and taking action on all that was said during the ‘A Fada Acika’ programme.
“Other promises fulfilled by Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, are the establishment of a Commission for Persons with Disabilities, the appointment of five Special Assistants with disabilities, the construction of a primary school in Malala Quarters, the free distribution of 6,000 water pumps to farmers, the regular provision of drugs to the Zauro Psychiatric Hospital.
The governor has also procured modern equipment and gadgets for Kebbi Radio and Kebbi Television, as well as converted both media outfits into digitalised stations’ Yakubu said.
Alhaji Birnin Kebbi praised media practitioners and the Ministry of Information for effectively disseminating the policy thrust of the governor, acknowledging that their work has been recognized even beyond the state.
In his vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Shehu Nuhu Koko, expressed gratitude to Kauran Gwandu for prioritizing the affairs of the Ministry of Health.
