Third Force About To Come Into Being As Shekerau, Yakasai, Others Form LND

 A  third force may be in the making as a group of prominent political leaders in the North have come up with the League of Northern Democrats while disclosing plans to convene a strategic summit that will focus on reviving the region’s political and economic status in the country.

The group  also noted that its immediate priority is the development of North while clarifying  that it does not represent anybody’s interest.

The interim chairman of the group comprising  226 people  including  former governors, federal lawmakers, and businessmen, is Alhaji Ibrahim Shekerau, a former governor of Kano state.

Mr  Umar Ardo is the convener while Emmanuel Jime is the interim Secretary.

Prominent and top members of the group  also include Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, Senator Ibrahim Ida,  (Wazirin Katsina); Kabir Tafida (Sarki Fadan Sokoto); Falalu Bello; ⁠Dr. Jamilu Isyaka Gwamna (Sardauna Gombe); Emmanuel Jime ⁠and Mohammed Kumalia, ⁠Malam Salihu Lukman, Usman Sarki, ⁠Dallaji Noah, ⁠Prof. Usman Yusuf, Muktari Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Aminu Shehu Shagari, and Murtala Shehu Yar’adua (Tafidan Katsina), among others.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the group at the end of its meeting at the Yar’adua Centre , Abuja, also  issued a communiqué .

‘The LND resolved to prioritize the political unity of Northern Nigeria.

Recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences within our ranks, we are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and solidarity. This unity will be the foundation for our efforts to reposition the North, as a leading force in Nigeria’s political landscape’ the group said.

 The LND also disclosed plans to send letters to  critical stakeholders in  the North to seek their  support and participation while emphasizing that their  involvement  is crucial to the growth and success of its mission.
