Lapai-Agaie Road Tanker Explosion Leaves 48 People Dead

A tanker explosion incident that happened on Lapai-Agaie Road on Sunday has left 48 people dead.

The victims and 50 cows were reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

They have since held a mass burial for them in  Agaie Local Government , Niger State.

 Team@orientactualmags.com learned that a petrol tanker  and a truck transporting people and cattle from Wudil , Kano State had a head-on collision in the early hours of Sunday.

 Director-General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba-Arab, who disclosed this on Sunday, said 48 persons were burnt beyond recognition.

Baba-Arab added that the incident happened at about 12.30 am along Lapai-Agaie, 2km in Dendo community in Agaie LGA.

‘NSEMA has received a report of a deadly tanker explosion that occurred on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at about 12.30 am along Lapai-Agaie, 2km in Dendo Community , Agaie LGA.

The incident occurred when a petrol tanker loaded with PMS collided with a truck transporting travellers and cattle from Wudil in Kano State heading to Lagos, two other vehicles, a crane truck and a pickup van, were also caught in the incident.

Over 30 people are already confirmed dead, with over 50 cattle burnt.
