Oyo state Labour Party governorship candidate , Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale, has called on Governor Seyi Makinde to quickly take necessary steps and make amends before his tenure ends in 2023.
Submitting that Makinde earned election victory in 2019 because he had the support of some unnamed godfathers, Taowfiq said the governor had rendered local governments in the state redundant for over 3 years now.

The Oyo LP guber candidate in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday said he felt a sense of dissatisfaction that streets of major cities in the state had somewhat become permanently dirty .
Hon. Tawfiq also said the Makinde administration had failed to launch empowerment programmes .
He also said bridges in the state were in a deplorable state saying the motoring public had since found most of them becoming impassable.
He also said the Makinde administration had failed to fulfill its campaign promise to deliver zero potholes in the state adding that with a few months left for the governor, citizens and residents of Oyo were still hoping to have the promised zero potholes on roads in the state achieved.
He also said the Adamasingba Stadium that had been left in a deplorable state usually welcomes floodwater once it rains adding that this had become a cause for concern.
The LP guber candidate said roads in areas including Challenge roundabout, Agbowo axis, BCOS staff quarters were in a deplorable state while noting that attention should be paid to the troubling land grabbing situation in Akinyele area of the state.
He also commented on the 25th day salary payment to workers in the state which he called a mirage. Tawfiq urged Makinde to note that he had a few months left to correct the situation while expressing his readiness and that of the Labour Party to take over power and ensure good governance in the state.
While asking the governor to start packing his personal effects out of the Government House, Agodi, he also advised that the few months left should be enough for Makinde to say goodbye to the people in the best way possible.
‘We are confident of victory with God and the people on our side. Enough is enough, these people have failed us. We must as a matter of urgency get Labour Party working in Oyo state. We are the hope of an average Nigerian and we won’t fail, this is why we are calling on the incumbent government to do the needful.
We can see how they have failed us, if they are not willing to make corrections, we are ready to send them out and return government to the people and not god fathers’ he said- Team@orientactualmags.com
