Gov Idris Commends N-HYPPADEC For Empowering 1,011 Graduates With Startup Kits In Kebbi

Kebbi State governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, has commended the National Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) for making startup kits available to 1,011 graduates in the state.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that Idris, who was represented by the state Head of Service, Alhaji Malami Muhammad-Shekari, said this while giving his speech during the flag-off ceremony of the initiative under the N-HYPPADEC Youth Transformation Programme (YTP).
The event was held at the Presidential Lodge, Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday.

Governor Idris praised N-HYPPADEC for its dedication to youth empowerment, describing the programme as a beacon of hope for unemployed youths in the state while reaffirming the commitment of the state to collaborating with agencies to create opportunities for the young people.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the startup kits to transform their lives and contribute positively to society.
The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, Katukan Yauri, highlighted the significance of the programme in combating unemployment and fostering economic growth.
‘In this challenging economic period, this initiative demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to creating sustainable opportunities for our youths’ Yelwa stated.
He disclosed that 1,011 youths have been trained in various skills, including:
Digital Economy: 343 youths were trained in technology, 162 in computer appreciation and 181 in website design.
‘Fashion and Beauty Industry: 258 entrepreneurs, 185 in fashion design, 60 in cosmetology, and 13 in bag and shoe making.
Agriculture and Food Services: 318 were trained, including 92 in fish farming and 87 in catering.
Technical and Construction Trades: 70 youths were trained in electrical installation, plumbing, furniture making, and painting, while 22 were trained in mechanics, entertainment, and printing’ the statement said.

Yelwa also said monitoring mechanism has been put in place to ensure that beneficiaries use the provided materials for intended purpose, reminding them of the bonds signed by their parents
In a goodwill message, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. George Akume, who was represented by Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman Mashegu, applauded N-HYPPADEC for its impactful youth empowerment programmes, noting that similar successes were recorded in Plateau, Kogi, and Kwara states.
He assured that the Federal Government would continue to address youth empowerment through agencies like NDE, SMEDAN, and ITF.
