TAU Getting Recognized As ‘Number One’ Private Varsity Excites Founder

The Proprietor and Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, (TAU), Oko-Irese , Irepodun Local Government, Kwara State, Engineer (Dr) Johnson Bamidele Adewumi has reaffirmed his commitment to high quality education that would make present and future generations add value to the nation’s economy.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the industrialist cum educationist said this while talking to journalists during the coronation ceremony of Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Oro on Monday.
Reflecting on his three-decade-long contribution to education sector in the country, Engineer Adewumi noted that Thomas Adewumi International College, Oko, had at different times gotten recognized as one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria with lots of laurels.
‘The propelling factor of my education programme is to develop our people. Education is life. In the last three decades, I have dedicated myself to creating the best educational facilities in the state. The school I established 37 years ago has been recognized as the best secondary school in Nigeria many times with several awards to its name’ he said.
Engr. (Dr) Johnson Bamidele Adewumi also emphasized the importance of quality education calling this a tool for national development.
‘The best legacy to give anyone is education. The higher we educate Nigerians, the more we create graduates who can add value to the economic development of our nation. What we are doing is setting the pace for others to follow.
After the success of Thomas Adewumi Secondary School, we decided to go higher. What we are doing at Thomas Adewumi University is to build graduates that would add value to the country’s economic development.
You could see the sign from how Thomas Adewumi University, emerged as the best in the country out of the 20 private universities granted licensed by the federal government in the year 2021. What we are trying to do is to set the pace for others’ he noted.
Commending the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration for its equitable development agenda, Dr Adewumi disclosed that Kwara South is partnering with the state government to establish a tertiary health institution in the senatorial district.
‘This government is doing well; it is people focused. In the whole of Kwara State, tertiary hospital care has been centralised in Ilorin. However, by the principle of equity and justice, Governor AbdulRahman is developing another tertiary institution in Kwara South.
