No Worker Was Sacked…Evaluation, Assessment Exercise ‘In Progress’ -Iree Poly

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has dismissed media reports claiming that Governor Ademola Adeleke authorized the sack of some workers at the institution while asserting that ‘no member of staff of the Polytechnic was sacked by the State Government’.

 Registrar of the institution, Prince Abiodun Oloyede in a statement he issued in Iree and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday noted that what is ongoing is ‘evaluation and assessment exercise’.

‘We are only reviewing the appointment of our Contract Staff. It is a normal thing to assess and evaluate the performances of Contract Workers to give room for further efficiency in their performance at work. It is an evaluation and assessment exercise, but not an arbitrary disengagement of the Part-Time Staffers.

They have been given a month notice already, which was already stated in their letter of appointment initially.

It should also be noted that interested members among the Contract Staffers who are still willing to continue their service can re-apply through their Heads of Department’ the statement noted.

Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution, Honourable Diran Ayanbeku has also commented on the issue on Facebook submitting that ‘the reviews of the Contract Staff appointment should not be politicized by the All Progressives Party (APC) cynics’.

‘It was a usual exercise during the 12- year reign of the APC in the State’ he added.

Ayanbeku also noted that ‘no single staff was given a permanent appointment by the APC led- government in the state’, despite the fact that a good number of the staffers retired or disengaged voluntarily at the polytechnic.

‘Therefore, I call on members of the public to ignore the fictional stories that were published to tarnish the image of the governor.
