Unoma Akpabio Slams Senator Natasha With Lawsuit…Alleges Human Right Violations

Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, who is the wife of the Senate President, Barrister Godswill Akpabio, has slammed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan with a lawsuit.
In the lawsuit filed at the FCT High Court, Abuja, Unoma is alleging defamation and violation of fundamental human rights.
Recall that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, had alleged that she is being victimized by the Senate President because she had refused to join him in participating in the game that requires no referee.

Mrs Akpabio in the first suit on fundamental rights violation (Suit No: CV/814/25), accused Natasha of making false and scandalous statements that have caused emotional trauma for her and her children, leaving them in fear for their lives.
She has asked the court to declare the statements as a violation of her right to dignity under the Constitution and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
Mrs Unoma Akpabio is also seeking ₦250 billion in compensation and a perpetual injunction to stop Akpoti-Uduaghan from making further damaging claims.

In separate defamation Suit No: CV/816/25, Mrs Akpabio picked holes in the senator’s claim that her husband made a pass at her.
She described the allegations as false, malicious, and damaging, saying they had brought her family into disrepute and public shame.
As part of her demands, she has asked the court to order Akpoti-Uduaghan to issue a public apology in two national newspapers, The Guardian and ThisDay, and pay ₦1 billion in damages.
‘The allegations have caused untold pain and emotional trauma to me and my family’ Mrs. Akpabio submitted in the suit in question.
Recall that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was referred to the Senate’s Ethics and Disciplinary Committee following altercations involving her and the Senate President, Barrister Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements during a plenary session a few days ago,
The Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions headed by Senator Neda Imaseun was given two weeks to submit its report.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had later filed a lawsuit against Akpabio and his senior legislative aide, Mfon Patrick alleging defamation and demanding N100 billion as compensation.
Her lawyer, Victor Giwa, said the alleged defamatory statement published on Patrick’s Facebook page was titled, ‘Is Local Content Committee of the Senate Natasha’s Birthright?’.
The Facebook post accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of thinking that being a senator is all about wearing makeup and transparent outfits to the chamber.
Describing the statement as provocative and damaging, Giwa said it had lowered his client’s reputation among her colleagues and the public.
Appearing on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme on Friday, Natasha accused Akpabio of making a pass at her adding that her refusal to ‘co-operate’ had made him victimize her..

Mrs. Unoma Akpabio has however spoken in defence of her husband asserting that ‘my husband is a disciplined man who respects women’-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
