Police Launch Manhunt For Man Who Stabbed Wife To Death In Ogun
The police have launched a manhunt for a man popularly called Oju whose whereabouts had become unknown after stabbing his 36-year-old wife, Josephine Isaac to death during argument in Agbure community, Ogun Waterside Local Government, Ogun State.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesperson for the state Police command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement she issued in Abeokuta on Thursday adding that the suspect hails from Calabar, Cross River State.
The deceased’s younger sister, Blessing Isaac, had according to her reported the case at the Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters at about 9:30 am on Thursday.
Blessing told officers that the fatal dispute occurred about 1 am on the same day. The Lounge:
Oju had allegedly stabbed Josephine multiple times in the neck and the chest.
‘Upon realizing the severity of her injuries and seeing her bleeding profusely, the suspect fled the scene, abandoning her’ Odutola said.
The victim was rushed to Ibiade General Hospital where she was declared a BID patient by medical personnel.
‘Detectives from the Abigi Division visited the crime scene, recovered potential exhibits, and moved the victim’s body to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The case is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation’ she added.
While condemning what Oju did, the police emphasized the need for peaceful resolution of conflicts rather than resorting to violence.
