Gov Idris Inaugurates Newly Renovated Sheikh Abbas Jega Mosque In Birnin Kebbi

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has inaugurated the newly renovated Sheikh Muhammad Abbas Jega Jumu’a Mosque in Rafin Atiku, Birnin Kebbi. 

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri inaugurated the mosque on behalf of Idris shortly before the commencement of the Jumu’a prayer on Friday.

 Commissioner for Finance, Alhalji Abubakar Muhammad Birnin Kebbi and other top government officials joined other worshippers to offer the two Raka’ah Prayers led by Sheikh(Engr) Imrana Ibn Usman, the  governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Affairs. 

Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Zayyanu Umar Aliero, explained that the renovation project was in fulfillment of the promise made by the governor during last year’s Ramadan Tafsir. 

The project includes complete facelift of both interior and exterior structures as well as the installation of solar power.

In his sermon, Mallam Muhammad Tukur Kola, a founding Elder of the Mosque who represented Sheikh Muhammad Abbas Jega, expressed gratitude to the governor for his foresight and devotion to religious matters.

He acknowledged the governor’s financial support for Imams and Muezzins, praying Allah to reward him abundantly.

‘The governor decided to embark on wholesome rehabilitation of Mosques for Allah’s sake, this is an act of piety, May the Almighty creator protect and guide him always’ he prayed.

Engr. Imrana Ibn Usman spoke on the Islamic perspective of  maintenance of mosques, quoting verses from the Glorious Qur’an and the Hadith of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, SAW. 

He prayed for continued blessings and protection for the governor.

Talking to journalists, Engr. Imran Ibn Usman praised Governor Nasir Idris for improving infrastructure at places of worship. 

‘So far, 130 Mosques have been renovated throughout the state. 

 In the state capital, Birnin Kebbi,  four Mosques including the Central Mosque, Jokolo Mosque, the Emir’s Palace  Mosque, and Rafin Atiku Jumu’a Mosque have been rehabilitated.

In the second phase of the exercise, additional three mosques from each of the 21 LGAs have been selected for renovation’ he said.
