Police Say Rescue Efforts ‘Underway’ As Gunmen Abduct 8 Travelers On Obbo-Ayegunle/Osi Road
The Kwara State Police Command on Sunday disclosed that an abduction incident occurred at about 1830hrs on Saturday, April 19, 2025, along Obbo-Aiyegunle/Osi Road, Ekiti Local Government.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, a Superintendent of Police, noted in a statement she issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that gunmen numbering about eight, reportedly ambushed a Sienna bus with registration number FFA 50 XD which had left Abuja for Offa .
The statement added that the gunmen forcefully took away seven occupants of the car including the driver while noting that efforts are already being made to rescue them unhurt.
‘Upon receipt of the information, cops in collaboration with local Vigilantes responded swiftly and visited the scene of the incident. The vehicle was taken to the nearest police station. During a coordinated search of the surrounding bush, three children aged between 2 and 12 years were located and safely rescued. One of the children was able to give the police detailed information of her guardian, he was contacted; the three rescued children have been reunited with their relatives.
The Kwara State Police Command has intensified efforts through discreet investigation, intelligence gathering, and sustained bush combing to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe rescue of the remaining victims.
