Kwara PDP To Begin Online Registration Of New Members, ‘Membership Renewal’ May 17

Kwara State PDP has announced plans to embark on online registration of new members and carry out ‘membership renewal’ exercise while noting that arrangements have been made to take this to the ‘grassroots’ and make it community-based.
Chairman, Kwara State PDP, Hon Babatunde Mohammed, who announced this during the press conference he presided over at the state secretariat of the party in Ilorin on Tuesday, noted that the grassroots membership drive that was approved and coordinated by the State Working Committee of the party, ‘is a direct response to the growing calls from patriotic Kwarans who are eager to be part of the #RescueKwara Project’.
He added that the #RescueKwara Project’ is an effort to restore ‘our state to the path of inclusive governance, purposeful leadership, and shared prosperity as we march towards 2027’.
Hon Mohammed also noted that the ‘Membership Registration and Revalidation Exercise’ will be held across all the 16 Local Governments in the state while emphasizing the importance of a ‘strong membership’.
‘As we are all aware, membership is the pillar on which every political party stands, and in our great party, membership is primarily obtained at the ward level. Accordingly, this registration and revalidation exercise shall be conducted at all the 193 wards across the state.
The exercise is designed to accommodate both: fresh registrations for new members who are willing to join our party, and revalidation for existing members who seek to update their status in the party register for the issuance of their permanent membership cards’ he said.
The party chairman also provided information about the requirements needed to participate in the registration exercise.
.
‘To register, every entrant is expected to present their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) as a valid mean identification. Others who do not have PVC, as a result of one factor or the other, can as well register, pending the time the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would open its PVC registration portal. Our trained registration officers stationed at the ward registration points will attend to all the prospective and returning members’ Hon Mohammed submitted while urging residents of Kwara who would like to know more about the registration exercise to contact their respective ward and local government registration officers or visit www.kwarapdp.com.ng.
.
The party noted however that while the registration structure will be ward-based, there will be active coordination at the local government, senatorial, and state levels to ensure ‘effective monitoring and success of the exercise’.
‘Our ward and local government registration officers have been trained and equipped with the necessary tools and materials to carry out this exercise effectively and efficiently. We are confident that the system put in place will ensure a smooth, transparent, and worthwhile registration process.
At the end of this exercise, Kwarans in the Diaspora who were not able to register physically will have the opportunity to do so on the registration portal on our website. In other words, for this initial stage, the online registration portal is only made available for physical registration and verification of members.
We are pleased to announce that the membership registration exercise will commence fully on Saturday, 17th May, 2025’ he said.
The party urged teeming supporters, admirers, and the general public to take advantage of this opportunity ‘to join the only party that offers a clear vision, credible platform, and genuine promise to return Kwara State to an era where leadership served the people and prosperity was shared among all’.
Kwara PDP also thanked party big wigs, who had done the needful to make the initiative become a reality.
‘As the chairman of this party, on behalf of the entire State Working Committee of the PDP in Kwara State, we extend our profound gratitude to our highly respected political leader, His Excellency, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki. Equally, we want to commend the Directorate of Data and Research, under Mallam Rasaq Kamil’s leadership, for their outstanding effort in designing and implementing the technical backbone of this project.
Together, we shall reclaim our state and rebuild her future’ Hon Mohammed added.

In their separate speeches, the party’s state Secretary, Mr Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode, Director of Research and Data, Mallam Razaq Kamil, and the Director of Planning and Strategy, Engineer Yinka Otukoko said the decision to come up with the registration exercise was as a result of advocacy and community outreach efforts noting that the 2027 General Election will be community-driven.

‘This exercise we are embarking on is not just something that we sat down and decided to do; it was in response to the clamour from the people of the state. We have new members joining the PDP, hence the need to ascertain the actual membership strength of the party.
We are not the one pushing this; it is the people of Kwara who want to be identified as members of the PDP and are yearning for a change from the current situation in the state’ Kamil said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
