Kwara State Government has commended an Islamic organization, Daru’l Erkam Foundation, Turkiye (Turkey), for their efforts in promoting learning and teaching of Islamic Studies in public schools in the State of Harmony noting that this has been done in the 16 Local Governments in the state.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr Peter Olorunmaiye on Tuesday noted that the state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe said this during the visit of the officials of Daru’l Erkam Foundation to the ministry ahead of its upcoming reading competition.
Dr Olohungbebe appreciated the unrelenting efforts of the Foundation towards ensuring that the future generations abide by the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) while urging Muslims to emulate the teachings of Islam.
The commissioner also urged students and other participants to live in peace with their neighbours for a peaceful society while expressing government’s readiness to support and partner with the Foundation.
Earlier, Coordinator of Daru’l Erkam Foundation in Southwest and Kwara State, who led the team, Mallam Saheed Aremu, appreciated the efforts of the current administration in the state under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership adding that the purpose of the competition is to promote learning and reading habits of Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).
Mallam Aremu commended the Foundation’s Board of Trustees headed by Mr Dogan Gokemen and the Chairman, Daru’l Erkam Foundation in Nigeria, Mr Metin Celebi, for the great opportunity and the good platform created for instilling the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in the hearts of the students, praying for God’s guidance for the governor and his cabinet in running the affairs of the state.
