Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete disclosed on Sunday that decisive measures have been taken to tackle off-campus robberies and ensure an improved security at private student hostels in the town.
Registrar of the institution, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, in a statement she issued in Malete and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday urged calm while also cautioning the students against taking the law into their own hands.
‘The Management of Kwara State University, Malete, wishes to bring to the notice of students who are residents of Malete and other concerned members of the public that decisive measures have been taken to forestall any repeat of robbery at private hostels in the town.
A joint patrol of the Police, Civil Defence Corps, and the community police has been put in place to patrol Malete community while a ‘stakeholder meeting’ would be held to find lasting solutions to the incessant robbery incidents that have disturbed the peace of KWASU students off-campus.
Management urges all KWASUites to remain calm and not to take the law into their own hands. Security agents are already in every part of Malete, and students are to go about their lives without fear’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
