2026 Ekiti Guber Election: APC To Hold Primary Election Oct 27, Asks Aspirants To Pay N50m
Ahead of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, APC has asked party members in the Land of Honour and Integrity, who are seeking to participate in its upcoming primary election to pay N50 million for the nomination and expression of interest forms.
The party has also released primary election timetable.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that National Organizing Secretary of the party, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu made the election timetable available on X.com on Friday.
Recall that the process had begun with the ‘Notice of election to the state chapter’ on Friday, July 25, 2025, followed by the ‘Update of Membership Register’ which began July 28, 2025, and will end on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The party has noted that only those who have gotten registered as members and have paid their membership dues will be eligible to vote and be voted for.
‘The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for the governorship position will run from ‘Monday, August 18 to Monday, September 2, 2025. The last day for submission of completed Governorship Nomination Form, Expression of Interest Forms, and accompanying documents & submission of Delegate Forms’ is Thursday, 11th September, 2025.
The screening of aspirants will take place from Tuesday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with the publication of screening results slated for Friday, September 25, 2025. Any appeals regarding screening outcomes must be submitted by Saturday, September 26, 2025.
The ‘Delegates Congress’ will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, followed by the ‘Delegate Congress Appeal on Friday, October 3, 2025’ the party said.
Primary Election will be held on Monday, 27th October, 2025, while appeals arising from the primary will be looked into from Wednesday, 29th to Thursday, 30th October, 2025.
APC added that a congress will be convened to ratify the results of the Gubernatorial Primary Election in compliance with Article 84 (4): (b) & (c) of the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended)’ on Tuesday, 28th October, 2025.
Aspirants can collect access codes for submission of nomination forms from Monday, 10th November, 2025, while the ‘Submission of list of nominated candidate to NWC will be done on Wednesday, 7th January, 2026’ and the ‘Final list of candidates that will be uploaded on the INEC Portal must be completed by Friday, 16th January, 2026’.
Campaign activities will ‘officially commence on Monday, 6th April, 2026, and it will continue until the final day of campaign/grand finale on Thursday, 18th June, 2026. The gubernatorial election itself is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 20th June, 2026.
Aspirants are expected to obtain nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦50,000,000.00, ₦10,000,000.00 is for the Expression of Interest form while ₦40,000,000.00 is for the Nomination Form.
‘Female aspirants and persons with disabilities are to purchase the Expression of Interest Form while the Nomination Form is Free.
