Retirement Day: Supporters Urge Bolakale Kawu To ‘Heed The Call’ As He Visits Emir Of Ilorin To Receive Royal Blessings
Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, who formally retired from public service last week, has visited the palace of Emir of Ilorin, His Eminence, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari during which he presented his retirement letter to the monarch and received royal blessings.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his media office on Monday noted that his retirement from public service does not in any way imply ‘retirement’ from service to humanity while adding that supporters have also urged him to ‘heed the call’.
‘The media office of Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, FNSE, the Dan Iya Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate and Hasken Lafiagi of Lafiagi Emirate, proudly announces his graceful retirement from public service after a long, meritorious, and impactful career and dedicated to service to Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a characteristically humble and culturally symbolic gesture, Engr. Kawu’s first activity after his retirement was to show respect to tradition and seek divine guidance by presenting his letter of retirement to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin. The revered monarch warmly received him, offered royal blessings, and commended his exemplary conduct, loyalty to the Emirate, and commitment to public service.
This visit speaks volumes about Engr. Kawu’s deep-seated values, humility, reverence for tradition, and an unwavering connection to his roots. His titles, Dan Iya Ngeri and Hasken Lafiagi, meaning ‘the light of Lafiagi’, are not mere appellations; they are affirmations of the respect, affection, and admiration he commands across Emirate councils and communities.
Throughout his career, Engr. Kawu maintained a rare closeness to the people. From the dusty roads of Lafiagi to the bustling neighborhoods of Ilorin, he has lit homes with electricity, sent children back to school, empowered the young people, and uplifted the downtrodden, quietly, compassionately, and consistently. His humility stands tall. His kindness runs deep. His service speaks louder than words.
As he retires from public service, the people are not letting him retire from service to humanity. Across towns and villages, a call is echoing, a call for leadership, for redemption, for responsible governance. The people are asking Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu to answer the call of destiny and offer himself to lead Kwara State into a new era of humility, dignity, and development.
This call is not about his wealth because he has never been a man of excess. It is about his worth. It is not about what he has in his bank account but what he has deposited in the hearts of the people. It is not about might, but about moral rights. It is not about self-interest but about selfless investment in others.
The religious leaders remember his reverence. The youths remember his empowerment. The elderly people remember his compassion. And Kwara remembers his silent sacrifices.
As he bows out of public service with honour, we believe this is his time to rise with purpose. Engr. Kawu, this is your moment. Kwara is calling. History is watching. And the people are ready’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
