Onanuga, Senator Orji Kalu Cite Instances To Dispel Ill Health Rumours, Say President Tinubu Not Feeling Unwell
President Bola Tinubu is not feeling unwell while he has also continued to carry out presidential duties and responsibilities, the presidency submitted on Monday.
The presidency added that media reports claiming that there are plans to fly the president abroad for medical treatment is also untrue.
Recall that the Nigerian Institute for Investigative Journalism had last week claimed that the presidential medical team is getting ready to fly the president abroad for medical treatment.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Mr AbdulAziz in an interview with BBC Hausa service on Monday, however described the media reports as untrue .
‘There is no truth in these statements. He is still in office’ he said.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, had also told the ICIR last week that ‘people just tell you all kinds of rumours that have no basis at all’ while noting that he was with the president in his office.
‘He was in his office yesterday (August 5). I was with him. I went to see him. He came to work’ he said.
‘There is nothing wrong with the president, he is okay. He can choose to work from home. He can choose to work from anywhere. I tell you nothing is wrong with the president’ a national newspaper also quoted Mr Onanuga as saying.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North in the senate, has also commented on the issue and he has helped to dispel the ill health rumours.
The former Abia State governor however disclosed that the president will be leaving the country for Japan without stating the purpose of the visit.
Kalu and Tinubu served as governors of Abia and Lagos states respectively between 1999 and 2007.
‘I spoke with him two hours ago and the president is in good shape. The president has made contact with some international people and the president is preparing for his journey to Japan and stopover in Brazil.
Anybody can be tired. Like three days ago, you can ask my daughter here, I told her that I was going upstairs and I have been there resting.
Anybody can be sick or not feel like going out. I think the president just doesn’t feel like going out.
I want politicians to stop this rumour. We need to work together to face our economy’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
