The Federal Government is yet to fulfil its promise in respect of the $100,000 reward for each of the members of the women’s national football team, the Super Falcons.
Recall that the Super Falcons had won the final of the 2024 African Women’s Nations Cup in Morocco a few days ago.
The match ended 3-2.
Recall also that President Bola Tinubu had bestowed national honours on all 24 Super Falcons players and the 11 coaching staff, including the head coach, Justin Madugu.
The president had promised that each of them will receive the Officer of the Order of the Niger national honour, a three-bedroom apartment under the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme, and a cash award, $100,000 (naira equivalent) for players and $50,000 for each of the coaching staff .
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that captain of the Super Falcons, Rasheedat Ajibade however disclosed in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo that the money has not been made available to them.
‘Have they delivered the $100,000? Chude had asked.
‘We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid.
