Kebbi Exco Holds ‘Special Session’ In Honour Of Late Emir Muhammadu Sani Sami In Birnin Kebbi
Kebbi State Executive Council (SEC) held a special session in honour of Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, on Wednesday.
His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami (Gomo II), a retired Major General, was until his death earlier in the week, the Emir of Zuru.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Nasir Idris’ Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the special session was presided over by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Abubakar-Tafida, who paid glowing tributes to the late monarch, extolling his virtues and praying that Almighty Allah will forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Ma’azu later told reporters that the council deeply acknowledged the immense contributions of the late emir to the peace and progress of Kebbi State.
He also described the late royal father as a pillar of wisdom who played a fatherly role in promoting peace, stability, and unity across the state, noting that his wealth of military experience greatly influenced key policy decisions that transformed lives in Kebbi State.
The late emir, Muazu added, served the state as a father, brother, and mentor, leaving an enduring legacy of selfless service and commitment to the development of the people.
The commissioner also said the council deliberated on measures to mitigate flooding across the state, urging residents to complement government efforts by clearing drainages and adopting preventive measures to avert disasters.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the ongoing voter registration exercise and directed government officials to return to their respective local governments to sensitize and mobilize citizens on the importance of the exercise.
