Ignore Sowore’s Assertions, No ‘Black Site’ In Maiduguri-Borno Governor
There is no torture centre in Maiduguri and the #EndBadGovernance protesters are not detained anywhere in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum clarified and submitted on Saturday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the governor’s Senior Technical Assistant on Print and Digital Communications, Abdulrahman Bundi said this in reaction to the social media posts by a political activist, Mr Omoyele Sowore, who alleged that Zulum has established a detention facility called ‘The Crack FC’ where protesters were held for over a year.
He also accused the governor of diverting billions of naira into programmes for Boko Haram insurgents while jailing minors arrested during the protests.
‘To be sincere with you, these are just pure imagination of Sowore. There is nothing like that existing. It is misinformation. What does the governor have to do with the #EndBadGovernance protest? That is a Federal Government affair’ he said.
Bundi also said funds channeled into the Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration programme were not designed to be used for only insurgents but also those who have been made to experience devastating consequences of Boko Haram’s atrocities.
‘DRR is a multi-stakeholder peace initiative. It is about rehabilitating those abducted, overrun, or forcefully conscripted by Boko Haram. In fact, it is much more about the victims of the crisis’ he submitted while urging members of the public to surf the net to seek information about the DRR document and avoid misinformation
‘The DRR document is a public document, people should access it on the internet, read it and understand what it contains.
