Public Spat Between Anambra First Lady And Former Senator Ekwunife Gets ‘Out Of Hand’
The public spat between the First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, and former Senator Uche Ekwunife got ‘ugly’ during the weekend with the two of them issuing statements to wash dirty linen in public.
Gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold in the state on November 8, 2025, the former senator is Anambra State APC deputy governorship candidate while Dr Nonye’s husband, Professor Charles Soludo is APGA guber candidate.
In a statement she issued on Saturday, Dr Nonye accused Uche of making ‘malicious allegations’ against her family while also adding that she would not descend to what she called ‘fabricated’ claims.
She also threatened to take a legal action if the former senator fails to withdraw her statements and apologize within 72 hours.
Recall that Ekwunife had in a viral video on Tuesday alleged that Dr Nonye played a role in the Chinwoke Mbadinuju administration, while also reacting to allegations that her academic credentials are ‘k-legged’.
Mbadinuju was the governor of Anambra State between 1999 and 2003.
‘For starters, let me repeat three verifiable facts. One, I have never worked for anyone in my life. I have been a professional and an entrepreneur all my adult life. Two, I never met Dr. Mbadinuju of blessed memory in my life. Three, in my 55 years on planet earth, I have known only one man, Chukwuma Soludo.
Since she claims to be a converted Catholic, I challenge her and both of us to swear an oath of fidelity and chastity at any Cathedral in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I will also swear with my children that I have known only one man—Chukwuma Soludo’ the First Lady submitted on Saturday.
That was not all, there has also been allegations of infidelity and Dr Nonye has declared that she is ready to make members of her family available for DNA tests while throwing down the challenge to Uche and asking her to do the same.
‘As a businesswoman, I will pay for your family’s travels as well as for the tests. If, after the tests, it is confirmed that your husband is the father of all your children, I will congratulate you with a cash award. I can confirm that my family is ready for this test at any moment of your choice’ she said.
Ekwunife should according to her withdraw her statements and tender an unreserved apology within 72 hours or get ready to face a legal action.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that rather than apologizing , the former senator in a statement she issued on Saturday submitted that she had only given a ‘friendly advice’ to the First Lady.
‘Mrs. Soludo does not owe me any explanation regarding personal family matters. If my statement caused any discomfort to Mrs. Soludo, she owes her husband an explanation, not me.
Challenging me to respond or undergo tests does not involve me, as I am not part of her family affairs. She should focus on addressing any concerns with her husband.
