Banditry: Police Confirm Death Of 11 Vigilantes, Village Head In Oke-Ode Suburb
The police disclosed on Sunday that bandits attacked Ogbayo , an Oke -Ode suburb, earlier in the day and this had claimed the lives of 10 vigilantes and a village head.
Oke-Ode is in Ifelodun local government, Kwara State.
Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, who disclosed this in a statement she issued in Ilorin on Sunday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, noted that four other people who sustained injuries are receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
‘The Kwara State Police Command has issued this statement to inform the public of an unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of today, 28th September, 2025, in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun LGA.
At about 7:00am today, armed men invaded the Ogbayo area of Oke-Ode, shooting sporadically. A combined team of policemen and members of the National Forest Security Service responded swiftly and were at the scene of the incident, where they discovered 12 lifeless bodies of vigilantes, including the Baale of Ogbayo.
The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Additionally, four persons who sustained injuries were immediately taken to Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased people were evacuated.
The Kwara State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and NFSS, has intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
A manhunt has been launched for them and the state police command assures residents that those responsible will be brought to justice.
