NILDS DG Mourns Passing Of Veteran Broadcaster Abdulrazaq Akanbi
The Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has submitted that he received with profound shock the news of the death of Mr Abdulrazak Akanbi ,a former staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), who died last week at the age of 66.
Professor Sulaiman in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his media aide, Mr Mohammad Abdulkadri sent his heartfelt condolences to the Management of NTA Headquarters, Abuja and Abdulrazaq’s former Primary Area of Responsibility, the NTA Ilorin,
He described the deceased person’s journey in broadcast journalism practice and his remarkable sojourn in the NTA Ilorin as a well accomplished tour of duty noting that even in death his pedigree will continue to inspire the upcoming generations of broadcasters.
He recalled with nostalgia Akanbi’s impeccable trajectory of meritorious career deeply rooted in fluency of news delivery, seamless anchoring of programmes and articulate authoritative analysis of topical issues alongside his masterly presentations of announcements on NTA Ilorin as well as how his professional brilliance made many viewers stay glued to their TV sets and inspirationally influenced careers choice foray into journalism by the younger ones.
He described Akanbi’s activities dating back to 80s and 90s as unforgettable.
While praying that Almighty Allah will forgive and overlook the retired veteran journalist’s shortcomings and reward his good deeds with high ranking abode in Al-jannat Firdaus, the former Minister of National Planning also condoled his family, friends, colleagues and the loved ones.
He also prayed that the departed will continue to find Mercies of Allah.
