The World Health Organization on Monday issued a public health alert for three cough syrups in India urging health authorities across the world to report any detection of the cough syrups in question in their countries promptly.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that WHO noted that the affected drugs are batches of Coldrif from Sresan Pharmaceutical, Respifresh TR from Rednex Pharmaceuticals and ReLife from Shape Pharma.
The contaminated products, WHO added, pose significant risks and can cause severe, potentially life-threatening illness.
The cough syrups reportedly contained toxic diethylene glycol in quantities nearly 500 times the permissible limit.
