IEDPU Congratulates Saraki On Winning African Democracy Award
The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has congratulated former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on winning this year’s edition of the prestigious Nana Akufo-Ado African Democracy Award.
Recall that the former Senate President received the award at an elaborate ceremony held in Nairobi, Kenya a few days ago.
National Publicity Secretary of IEDPU, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, and the National President, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the award is well deserved, considering Dr Saraki’s fascinating credentials and enormous contributions to the growth of democracy in Africa’s largest democracy, Nigeria.
The statement also noted that Dr Saraki’s accomplishments in his past roles as former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s Special Assistant, governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum as well as President of the Senate and Chairman of the National Assembly, showed that he actually deserves the honour.
