Igbomina Lokan: KSYCG Accuses Rep Raheem Olawuyi Of Sabotaging Unity Efforts, Asks Him To Apologize For ‘Unruly Behaviour’
A group, the Kwara South Youth Concern Group (KSYCG) has accused Hon. Raheem Tunji Ajuloopin, who represents Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of trying to sabotage efforts being made by stakeholders in Igbomina land to ensure that the Igbomina bloc achieve unity and present a common front ahead of the 2027 Kwara South senate election.
KSYCG cited scenarios enacted at the high-profile gathering convened by Egbe Omo Ibile Igbomina, a foremost socio-cultural organization dedicated to the advancement of the Igbomina nation in Kwara State .
‘The event, hailed as a landmark convergence, was designed to unite all Igbomina leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, elites, sons, and daughters from across the state and diaspora. Its primary objective was unequivocal: to forge a common front and vigorously campaign for the Igbomina ethnic bloc to produce the next representative of Kwara South in the senate in the upcoming National Assembly elections.
However, what was intended as a historic moment of unity was brazenly sabotaged’ from within’ the group submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its President, Comrade Ademola James, and Publicity Secretary, Miss Aishat Abdullahi on Friday.
Expressing profound disappointment over Hon. Ajuloopin’s conduct at the event, the group added that the atmosphere at the gathering was electric with a sense of shared purpose and historical significance until the federal lawmaker’s representative mounted the podium to give his speech.
‘ Leaders from various Igbomina communities had taken turns to emphasize the importance of setting aside individual differences and political affiliations to rally behind the single goal of clinching the Kwara South senate seat—a position they argue is long overdue for the Igbomina people.
This was a solemn assembly, a rare moment where the Igbomina spirit was rekindled for a common destiny.
The aim was to speak with one voice, to present a unified front that would send a clear message to the entire state about our political resolve.
This unity, however, was allegedly fractured when Hon. Ajuloopin’s representative began to deliver his speech . Rather than aligning his speech with the collective objective, he was accused of diverting the platform to launch a thinly-veiled campaign for his own perceived political interests.
The Honourable Member, in a move that can only be described as the height of political opportunism, turned a sacred unity square into his personal campaign ground. He used the microphone, provided for the amplification of the Igbomina voice, to amplify his own political megaphone. This action was not only divisive but a blatant sabotage of the very objective that brought us together’ the statement added.
The youth group has consequently asked the federal lawmaker to publicly apologize for his ‘unruly and self-serving conduct’ while also explaining how and where he had erred.
‘1. Subversion of a Collective Agenda: By prioritizing his personal political ambition over the collectively agreed-upon goal of the gathering, Ajuloopin demonstrated a disregard for the community’s goals.
2. Creating Division: His actions are seen as sowing seeds of discord and creating factions at a time when absolute unity is paramount. The group fears this could weaken the Igbomina bargaining power in the larger Kwara South political landscape.
3. Lack of Respect for Elders, Traditional rulers and Stakeholders: The event was attended by revered community elders and leaders who had painstakingly organized the forum. Ajuloopin’s deviation from the theme is viewed as an act of disrespect towards their efforts and authority.
4. Undermining the Igbomina Project: The KSYCG argues that such individualistic actions play into the hands of those who would prefer the Igbomina nation remains politically fragmented, thereby making it easier for other blocs within Kwara South to maintain dominance’ the group said..
The Kwara South Youth Concern Group has consequently asked Hon. Ajuloopin to publicly apologize to the entire Igbomina people for his ‘unruly and self-serving conduct’ while urging the leadership of Egbe Omo Ibile Igbomina to take a firm stand against such a behavior to serve as a deterrent to others who might contemplate similar actions in the future.
The group has also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the original objective of the gathering declaring that ‘our mission remains unchanged: to ensure that an Igbomina son or daughter emerges as the next Senator from Kwara South’.
.’We will not allow the ambitions of a single individual to derail this collective dream. We call on all well-meaning Igbomina indigenes to look beyond this unfortunate incident and remain focused on the ultimate goal’ the statement added–Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
