Man, Wife, 2 Daughters Die In House Fire In Kano
A man, his wife and their two daughters have died in the house fire that occurred in Kundila Layin Baba Impossible, Tarauni Local Government, Kano State on Wednesday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service, Mr Saminu Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the fire was reported at about 4:13 a.m. by a firefighter, Abba Datti.
‘One of our personnel, Abba Datti, reported the incident at about 4:13 a.m. today (Wednesday)’ he said.
The statement added that firefighters found the ground-floor building—measuring about 40 by 30 feet and used as a residence—already engulfed by flames while the fire had already destroyed two bedrooms, a parlour, a kitchen and a toilet.
‘Five occupants were trapped inside the house, including a 43-year-old man, Shodandi; his wife, Rafi’a, 30; and their two daughters; 3-year-old Mardiya and one-and-a-half-year-old Yusira, all of who were burnt to death’ the statement added while noting that a 12-year-old boy, Aminu Shodandi, was rescued alive by the firefighters.
The Fire Service expressed condolences to the bereaved family and urged residents to exercise heightened caution in handling fire-related materials, especially during this harmattan season.
