3 Serial Rapists, Robbers Arrested In Kwara
Three young chaps have been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Kwara state.
Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara state, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi , a Superintendent of Police, who announced this in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday, noted that the suspects were arrested in Malete, Moro local government adding that they have been accused of robbing and raping residents of the town.
They were according to Okasanmi arrested after three students at the Kwara State University, Malete reported a robbery incident at the Malete police divisional headquarters.
Phones, generators and other items were recovered from them, a development that confirmed that they are serial rapists and robbers.
‘Due to reports of armed robbery/rape cases received by policemen at the Malete Divisional Police headquarters from residents of Malete; a University town in Kwara state, the Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama psc (+) pursuant to his earlier assertion that lawlessness of whatever nomenclature would not be allowed in the state on his watch , he set up a crack team of detectives comprising the Anti-cultists, Anti-Kidnapping, Anti-robbery and personnel of Malete Division with the mandate to break the suspects’ foothold and bring the culprits to justice.
In carrying out the directive of the CP after Adeboyo Omolade ‘F’, Adeyeye Adebola ‘F’ and Babatunde Hellen ‘F’ all 400L students at Kwara State University, Malete reported to the police that at about 0330hrs of 07/10/2022, they were all robbed at ‘Downtown hostel’ by armed hoodlums and that their property were forcefully carted away, while approaching the suspected hide out of the gang, the team was seen by the hoodlums and they took to their heels, one Ridwan Abdulfatai ‘M’ aged 20 years, from Oke Fomo Ilorin was however arrested by the detectives.
Consequently, the suspect under intense interrogation confessed that he is the leader of the robbery gang terrorizing the Malete community and its environs, stating also that he is also a jail bird.
He led the investigators to effect the arrest of two other members of the gang, namely ;Ibrahim Ridwan Akorede ‘M’ 25 years of Oke Fomo area of Ilorin, and Aliyu Abubakar Apalado ‘M’ 25 years , they all confessed to the crimes.
The investigation also led to the recovery of the following items snatched at gun points during some of their operations.
One Locally made gun, One Jack knife and charms.
Eleven(11) Generators.
Two (2) Motorcycles.
One(1) small size fridge
One(1) standing fan
One(1) pumping machine
Nineteen(19) iPhone 6 hand sets.
Three(3) iPhone11 handsets,
Sixteen(16) iPhone 6 plus
Five(5) iPhone XR and other brands of telephone handsets altogether totaling Eighty-seven (87) handsets.
Ten(10) Laptops and Two(2) Television sets.
Effort is still geared towards arresting the remaining members of the gang’he said.
Okasanmi added that the state police chief, who had promised to ensure that the suspects are taken to court after conclusion of investigation, had also for the umpteenth time, warned criminal elements in Kwara State to either relocate from the state or be relocated to prisons.
The statement quoted the police chief to have said that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that Kwara State, remains truly, a State of Harmony.
The CP also restated the need to always give information to the police, as the police could not according to him work in isolation from members of the society.
