O n Rugbo Bo o! Speaker Martin Amaewhule, 15 Other Rivers Lawmakers Announce Defection To APC

Dramatic scenes may once again, begin to get enacted in Rivers State following the development that was recorded in the state parliament on Friday.   

Speaker Martin Amaewhule and fifteen other members of the state House of Assembly, have announced their decision to leave PDP for APC.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Speaker Amaewhule, who announced this during the plenary session he presided over on Friday, cited leadership imbroglio in the PDP .

Recall that the Speaker and 27 others had on December 11, 2023, announced decision to leave PDP for APC and it was a development that signaled and made it public that a frosty relationship was existing between the legislature and the executive.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara  and all elected public officials in the state were later suspended following the declaration of emergency rule by the president and this lasted for 6 months.

Speaker Martin Amaewhule is the leader of the loyalists of Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike among the political office holders in the state.
