Kwara: Isanlu-Isin Appoints Nurudeen Adeyemi As Cultural Ambassador…He’s Also The Akinrogun Of Oba-Isin
It was a busy but beautiful day for Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of TETFund, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, as he was honoured with titles by two different communities in Isin local government, Kwara State.
The first port of call was Isanlu-Isin where he was a Special Guest of Honour at the 5th Ajokogun Fiesta..
The event held at the playing field of Baptist Grammar School, Isanlu-Isin was also attended by Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and his wife, Mrs. Bose Oyedepo, Dr Funsho Adeogun, Mrs. Comfort Isalama and other dignitaries.
In his welcome speech, president of Isanlu-Isin Development Association, Dr Femi Adebayo noted that Ajokogun centres on the battles of long ago and became a mystic war phenomena that gave the town the final victory over centuries of attacks by strong neighbours and external enemies that include the Nupe people, the Baruba people, the Oyo people and the Agan-ni-gan people .
This, he added, is today recognized as the unified symbol of Isanlu-Isin’s identity, unity and development.
‘Ajokogun is a heritage gifted to us by our ancestors, men and women who understood the power of togetherness, communal labour and shared identity’ he submitted while adding that ‘although, many things have changed in respect of our ways of life, Ajokogun however remains our symbol of resilience and unity’.
Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun’s appointment as ‘Cultural Ambassador’ of Isanlu-Isin was announced during the event and the investiture ceremony of the TETFUND Board member as Cultural Ambassador of the ancient town was jointly presided over by Oba Solomon Oloyede and Mrs. Comfort Isalama, who lives in Canada.
Olusin of Isanlu-Isin, Oba Solomon Oloyede, a first class monarch, who is a member of Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of Isin LG Traditional Council of Obas, praised Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi’s good qualities and noted that he loves culture, and has demonstrated commitment to the growth and progress of Igbomina land while also showing commitment to service to humanity.
The monarch also added that the TETFUND board member is an indigene of Esie, a cultural location.
In his acceptance speech, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun thanked the Isanlu-Isin people for the honour done to him and promised to be a good ambassador of the town while recommitting himself to the development and progress of the town and the entire Igbomina land.
In Oba-Isin, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun was not only one of the dignitaries that attended the event held to mark the Oloba of Oba-Isin, Oba Timothy Oyebanji’s 30th coronation anniversary at Oba Community School, Oba-Isin but was only honoured with the chieftaincy title of Aare Akinrogun of the ancient town.
The distance between Isanlu-Isin and Oba-Isin is 10.8 km.
Dignitaries at the event include Hon AGF Salahudeen, a member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Adebayo Jimoh Alao, a former Commissioner for Sports, Hon Jolayemi Benjamin, Chairman of Isin Local Government, Hon Tunde Fadipe, former chairman of the local government, Hon (Chief) Olu Adewara, Hon Abdulrahman Akanni, Chief Lanre Ogundeji, and the Publicity Secretary of Kwara State PDP, Mr Olusegun Adewara.
Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi also stopped off to assess facilities at Igbomina FM, a private community radio station located in Oke Iroko, Pamo-Isin,
