Kwara Govt’s New Year Safety Advisory ‘An Admission Of Failure-Kwara PDP
Kwara State PDP on Wednesday noted that it took note of the safety advisory issued by the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led Kwara State Government ahead of New Year crossover events and the New Year celebrations, submitting that ‘we must state without equivocation that the statement is a clear admission of failure, panic, and total collapse of leadership in the state’.
‘For a government that has abandoned its primary responsibility of securing lives and property, this advisory is nothing but a public declaration of submission to the whims and caprices of criminal bandits who now appear to have overwhelmed the Abdulrazaq administration’ the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara submitted in a statement he issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday night .
The party described the government’s press statement urging caution as an irresponsible attempt to transfer the burden of its incompetence to the innocent citizens.
‘Rather than inspire confidence and provide necessary security support, the government is spreading fear and signals that the state government has lost control of the security architecture of Kwara State.
The PDP finds it disturbing and questions where the 2,000 recently celebrated forest guards have been deployed to after months of camping with taxpayers money .
The government, instead of strengthening intelligence, equipping security agencies, and confronting criminal elements head-on, is placing Kwarans under a tacit house arrest at a time meant for reflection, gratitude, and celebration of a new year. This is anti-people, unacceptable, and shameful of a government
We therefore call on the resilient people of Kwara State not to succumb to fear or allow an absentee government to rob them of the joy and communal spirit of the New Year. While citizens should celebrate with decorum and remain vigilant, they should also extend hands of kindness to neighbors and loved ones in keeping with the spirit of unity, hope, and renewal that defines the season’ the statement added.
Kwara State PDP also wished residents of the state a happy New Year while urging them to vote out the APC in 2027.
‘As we approach the New Year, the PDP wishes all Kwarans a happy, peaceful, and prosperous 2026 in advance.
