Assault Charges: Case Adjourned Until January 19 As Court Refuses To Grant Portable’s Bail Application

Assault Charges: Case Adjourned Until January 19 As Court Refuses To Grant Portable’s Bail Application

Controversial hip hop act, Habeeb Okikiola, who is popularly called ‘Portable’, will remain in police custody till January 19, 2026 as the Federal High Court, Ota, Ogun State on Monday refused to grant his bail application.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesman for Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed on Tuesday that Portable was arrested and taken into custody while he is also currently facing charges.

‘Yes, he was arraigned and remanded yesterday’ Babaseyi said.

Portable was arrested sequel to allegations of assault raised against him by an actress and skit maker, Omobolarinde Akinyanju aka Ashabi Simple.

The skit maker in question is Portable’s former wife and they had two children together.

The controversial musician was alleged to have attacked Ashabi, Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi , Ebuka Odah and others at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo area on January 1.

One of the victims is said to be a policewoman.

Portable was also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at ₦12 million belonging to Ileyemi Damilola .

While Ashabi did not show up in court, her two siblings however testified as witnesses while the police also alleged that Portable obstructed and assaulted a female police inspector, Ogungbe Olayemi who was carrying out law enforcement duties.

The court refused to grant Portable’s bail application because the police officer who was allegedly assaulted was not in court.

The judge said the police officer in question must be present before a decision on the bail application could be made and he consequently ordered that Portable should be remanded in custody while the case was adjourned until January 19-Team@orientactualmags.com   Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
